Maptech is redefining how distribution poles are inspected in Türkiye and Azerbaijan through the use of UAVs. In this section, you will see how corridor flights are planned, high resolution images of power lines and poles are captured, and the data are analyzed and reported inside Maptech’s in house Gözlem platform. This end to end workflow-from field data capture to office review-automatically generates maintenance work orders for utility crews.
The approach cuts inspection cycles by about 60 % while markedly improving GIS based positional accuracy; it reduces field labour demands and mitigates location specific risks that can cause service interruptions, all while delivering rich, location aware reports on pole condition. The presentation also shows how AI modules that automatically detect issues-such as corroded connectors and cracked insulators-scale defect identification and labelling across thousands of assets. Attendees will gain a practical understanding of how drone technology and smart data workflows accelerate grid maintenance and asset mapping.
