Davor Kolar is an Assistant Professor and Head of Laboratory at the University of Zagreb, specializing in machine learning, IoT, and fault diagnostics for rotary machinery. He holds a Doctorate in Technical Sciences (2019) focused on deep learning-based fault diagnosis, alongside a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. His professional career spans academia and industry, including roles in research, development, and innovation management, with leadership on EU- and industry-funded projects. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, delivered invited lectures at international conferences, and contributed to projects on digital transformation, smart maintenance, and manufacturing education. Additionally, he is active in European research networks and has filed patents related to predictive maintenance technologies.
